Review: The Hero of Ages
The story itself is very interesting, again. I find it amazing how Brian Sanderson continues this epic tale. How the world keeps on changing and the challenges for Kelsiers’ crew differ widely from one book to the other. How the allomancy grows into an intricate web of magic.
The ‘pre-chapters’ where he explains about the magic are interesting. But there is also a downside to them. They take away the flow of the story a bit and it makes it all a bit more convoluted than necessary. I am not sure if they are really needed, though you can skip them of course.
The nearer you get to the end of the story, the tenser it becomes and the harder it is to put this book down.
Maybe this book is not as powerful as the first two books, but it comes very close. I cannot wait to start reading part 4!
